DApps Are Approaching the 200,000 Daily Active User Threshold
According to DappRadar, DApps are now approaching the 200,000 daily active user mark. This is a stark contrast to the total daily active usage just one year ago. This time last year, Ethereum DApps had just over 15,000 daily active users.
Strangely enough, they are now below that threshold. All of the recent growth in DApp daily active users has come from the introduction of EOS and TRON to the market. Both platforms launched within the last year and are seeing moderate signs of success.
Though both EOS and Tron are highly skewed towards applications like gambling and betting, there is clearly a niche market they are able to tap into. Globally, DApp transaction volume is on the order of $35m per day, mostly on EOS/Tron, and mostly on gambling DApps.
The few DApps that do have users are steadily growing. So far the largest DApps are all seeing between 5 to 10k daily active users, which is an improvement over this past summer’s anemic numbers, but still remains a far cry from the millions of daily users that developers of traditional apps enjoy.
