While the total supply of Bitcoin is limited to 21 million, the actual circulating supply will never reach this mark since some Bitcoin is out of supply. The Out of Supply indicator includes coins that have been formally restricted, “burnt” coins that are still visible on chain, and probably lost. It is worth noting that the number of out of supply BTC is growing faster than the current supply; thus, the free float supply (current supply excluding out of supply coins) is steadily declining.
