CME’s Bitcoin futures volumes are decreasing. The current volume on March 06, 2020, is around $88 million. The same situation with Open Interest which dropped down over 100 million and now holds around 217 million.

Total open interest decreased by a third, which in general gives us a quite acceptable average value of 267 million, which, unfortunately, cannot be said about the daily volume.

Institutional investors might be reacting to the Coronavirus scare. The lockdown in Chinese markets and other countries around the world has caused the financial markets to significant change.
