The first ETH Belgrade will be held from the 2nd to the 7th of June, 2023, as part of Belgrade Blockchain Week. Over the course of five days, an ETH conference will happen first (2-4 June), followed by a two-day hackathon (5-7 June). The conference will take place in Belgrade’s MTS Hall (MTS Dvorana), formerly known as Trade Union Hall (Dom sindikata). The venue where the hackathon will occur will be announced later.
It is estimated that the event will bring together around 1000 guests from all around the world. Since the conference covers all technical and business aspects of the Ethereum ecosystem, it will host many prominent Web3 experts, leaders, engineers, and investors who work and create on the world’s second-largest blockchain.
The organizers anticipate that there will be more than 100 speakers at the event. Some significant figures in the Web3 world will be among them, like Andy Tudhope from Kernel, Abril Zucchi from Fleek, Kevin Jones from Buidl Guidl, Kevin Olsen (Gitcoin), Abena Asante (Bankless Africa), and more.
In addition, all attendees will be able to participate in numerous workshops, startup sessions, and similar smaller events during all three days of the conference. ETH Belgrade announces that there is already great interest amongst the Web3 community and that dozens of companies and organizations are expected to support the event.
The first ETH hackathon will start the day after the conference ends. Belgrade will gather numerous engineers worldwide keen to create innovative applications on Ethereum. The hackers will have 72 hours to engineer their applications and also the opportunity to win attractive prizes.
During the last decade, Serbia has become one of the vital regions of the Web3 world. At present, Belgrade is home to over 50 companies that operate in this fast-expanding industry. Many globally accepted Web3 companies and platforms like Polygon, DeFi Saver, and Tenderly come from Belgrade.
“Belgrade equals Web3. Some of the biggest Web3 projects in the world started here, and it’s our mission to make Belgrade’s name as recognizable as they are”, says Petar Popovic, CEO of Renfter and one of the core organizers of this year’s ETH Belgrade.
Considering all of Belgrade’s advantages, the Web3 community expects an extraordinary event that will become traditional in years to come.
The Ethereum Foundation has included the Belgrade event in its official calendar of major global events.
