MonkeyBall combines high-production value, multiplayer gaming with Solana blockchain, NFTs, and decentralized finance to deliver an exciting, turn-based, play-to-earn soccer game that’s easy to learn yet hard to master.

On November 23, Oren Langberg, Head of Marketing at MonkeyBall joined us to answer our questions.

#1. Can you tell us about MonkeyBall? What problems do you solve, both in the space and for the community?

Oren L.: – MonkeyBall is the next-gen esports metaverse that empowers players to create, play, compete and earn. It’s a fast, turn-based arcade football game that’s easy to learn yet hard to master. The best way to put is a cross between FIFA Street and Final Fantasy.

Regarding problems we solve – I am happy you asked this because our goal is not just to make another casual game project. Most if not all play-to-earn games out there are pretty niche in genre and require a ton of time and effort to play and actually earn money. With MonkeyBall we are the first to introduce Active & Passive ways to earn. So, you can earn money by actively playing and winning matches, or you can earn by being a Spectator and rooting the winning team, or own a Stadium and host matches there. We have created a game that includes multiple player types – from hardcore to casual.

#2. Could you briefly describe the milestones MonkeyBall has achieved, and about your upcoming plans?

Oren L.: – 

• We have put an industry-leading team together to build out the MonkeyBall metaverse
• We have put together strategic partners to ensure we succeed and are in it for the long term
• We have built a community of 80K followers in under a month
• We have built a robust pipeline of partners, many to be announced in the future

So, hopefully, everyone knows we have our IDO on StarLaunch on the 30th! In mid-December, we will drop our first Monkey NFTs – 5,000 ONLY. That leads us to the Pioneers Gear Up camp at the end of the year, which is where early Monkey holders will be able to start collecting Loot Boxes (but not opening them), and then the in-game store, breeding season, and the first game mode to launch.

#1. How MonkeyBall makes cryptocurrency an accessible, flexible, and useful part of everyday life for everyone. But how can you attract more non-crypto people to this potentially lucrative world? How do you plan to generate greater adoption?

Oren L.: – MonkeyBall in-game currency is MonkeyBucks and is the main coin for the MonkeyBall economy. Our mission is to not only create a gaming experience for the crypto world but also to introduce a lot of unexposed audiences into the crypto space with a high-production-value game that has very wide appeal – football.

#2. What unique feature is your project offering that isn’t already available in the gaming ecosystem and how will this advance your project?

Oren L.: – First we see MonkeyBall itself is unique when compared to other games out there. I believe that us using a dual token system will help create a standard for other robust projects. But, I think our pioneering of multiple earning channels is a breakthrough. Up until now you could only earn or achieve certain levels from the amount of time you spend inside and it was only suitable for more hardcore games. We want to change that by enabling all types of gamers to engage, enjoy and earn.

#3. Do you plan future partnerships with football club Fan tokens or even football clubs? It would be interesting if players could earn NFTs like the football kit of their favorite team. 

Oren L.: –  We already have several in the partnership pipeline. We intend to have partnerships with football clubs, players, and brands outside of football. These partnerships will be announced in due time.

#1. Many projects are constantly discussing their benefits, and the prices of tokens and coins are constantly declining. As one of the leaders of MonkeyBall, do you dare to say the difficulties that MonkeyBall faces and how long it will take to overcome them?

Oren L.: – I think that P2E games represent a certain resilience to volatilities in the crypto market because it’s almost a space that’s recession-proof. The recent covid lockdowns are a testament to this as everyone rushed towards gaming. In addition, I believe that only the strong survive. So if the project and game and community are solid enough, the sky is the limit. This is not to say we won’t have challenges and difficulties – nothing worth it in life is easy but we have put everything in place to ensure a long-term game. The first place is the IDO. After the IDO we will release a rewards pool and be listed on a couple of exchanges – we will update once this is released.

#2. Do you have any plans to attract non-crypto investors to join your project? Because the success of a project attracts more investors who haven’t yet entered the crypto world. What are the plans to raise awareness about your project in the non-crypto space?

Oren L.: – With MonkeyBall we have potential and plans to bring in a ton of people that are until now unexposed to crypto. With that in mind, one of our notable backers is DraftKings – a U.S.-based esports company. Actually the largest esports company in the world. This is part of how we will break through the barriers.

#3. Which of the 3 different game modes should players who will join MonkeyBall for the first time choose? What is the difference between the mods? Can I make a collection of monkey NFTs? How many different Monkey NFTs are in the game, how do I get the rarest items?

Oren L.: – The first game mode to be released will be Player v Environment followed by Player v Player a few months after and then Team v Team a few months after that. So at the start, you will only have PvP available. Remember you need Monkeys?

If you participate in the Monkey NFT drop, people have randomly generated a Monkey. All Monkeys have a rarity score from more common to rarer.
